Getting to Cadenabbia-Griante
There are three ways of getting to Cadenabbia-Griante from Milan or any three of Milan airports:
Public transport
FROM MILAN
Train from Milano Centrale to Como S. Giovanni. From outside Como S. Giovanni station C10 bus to Tremezzo (usually signposted Colico or Menaggio) Cadenabbia is first village after Tremezzo, 50 mins from Como
FROM BERGAMO ORIO AL SERIO AIPORT
ATB shuttle bus from the airport to Bergamo railway station, train to Como S. Giovanni with a change at Monza or Seregno or C46 bus to Como S. Giovanni. From outside Como S. Giovanni station C10 bus to Cadenabbia (usually signposted Colico or Menaggio)
Alternatively from Bergamo take a train to Varenna, from there ferry to Cadenabbia
FROM MILAN MALPENSA AIPORT
Shuttle train from Malpensa to Como Lago Nord with a change at Saronno.
C10 bus to Cadenabbia (usually signposted Colico or Menaggio) or ferry close to train station
FROM MILAN LINATE AIPORT
Shuttle bus to Milan Centrale, train to Como San Giovanni and C10 bus to Cadenabbia.
Car hire
There are lots of car hire firms with airport pick-ups and drop offs. But you should book in advance to be certain of availability. You can try Car Rentals for availability and great rates.
For driving directions use www.viamichelin.com. Type in airport and village visiting for easy to follow directions. Individual directions given on request with each booking. There is around 90 minutes drive to Tremezzo from Milan.
Private transfer (taxi or minibus)
There is no doubt that private transfers can be a more attractive, if more expensive, option than public transport and self drive car hire.
