About Cadenabbia-Griante and Griante Residence
The Griante Residence is a new, purpose built development of nine spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished luxury holiday apartments in a sunny location on a tranquil green hillside, less than ten minutes walk from the Lake, ferry, restaurants, minimarket, lido, bars and shingle and golden sand beaches.
There are five split level ground/lower ground apartments and four first floor apartments, all with their own individual terrace or balcony. In addition, the communal garden contains a sauna, Jacuzzi and barbeque area. The residence also boasts a rectangular pool measuring 12 metres by 6 meters . The pool is 110cm deep and has a area of steps just 20cm deep where younger visitors can play.
One of the apartments has one bedroom, another one has four and there are three with two bedrooms and four with three.
Griante is a mainly residential area containing handsome historic villas, including one owned by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Villa Ricordi, where Verdi is said to have composed part of La Traviata. The area was visited by the writer Longfellow who wrote ‘I ask myself is this a dream? Will it vanish into air? Is there a land of such supreme and perfect beauty anywhere?
The Griante Residence is ideally located for access to walks providing spectacular mountain and lake views; the nearby Villa Carlotta with its majestic gardens; the short ferry ride to the shop filled alleyways of Bellagio; the Cadennabia and Menaggio golf club; the attractions of the western branch, including the Villa Balbianello; the capital, Como, with its historic old town and the water sports and adventure pursuits in the central and northern parts of the Lake.
It’s also possible to enjoy day trips to Milan or the Swiss towns of Lugano and, perhaps surprisingly, St Moritz. But please also visit a much closer but often overlooked little jewel – a beautifully decorated Anglican church, just over the road from the Cadenabbia ferry point.
